Growing up, my mother made a point to show me how important selfcare was. I remember the first time my mom brought me to the Clinique makeup counter so I could "look pretty" for my first dance recital. I was like a kid in a candy store with all the beauty products. Being introduced to hair apts, manicures, massages and facials all before I turned 18 showed me how important taking care of yourself really is.
It wasn't until I was 20, living on my own, working random day jobs to pay the bills where my skincare journey started. I remember wanting to dial into my own skincare routine, when I started seeing how bad marketing for skincare was. I had a hard time believing that it would cost me an arm and a leg for a good skincare routine. That's when my curiosity for ingredient training got piqued. Due to circumstances at the time I got into banking for a career and it wasn't until I was 23 that I made the decision to go back to school and follow my dream of going to beauty school for esthetics/ skincare specifically.
Once I graduated school, I was fortunate to get my first spa job in Keene. It was at my first day spa where I got to use the whole scope of my license. Being there for 2 years helped me gain hands-on experience and dial in on where my passions truly lie.
My thirst for knowledge is what drives me to continue my journey as a skincare specialist and a brow artist. Helping people feel at peace with themselves is a gift that I do not take lightly. It is my mission as an esthetician to create a selfcare moment for every single person that I get to meet. As a single lady approaching my thirties, working 2 jobs and a fur baby to take care of at home; I understand the importance of self care and that it feels like there's not enough hours of the day. That's why my hours are set up the way that they are. It's so anyone and everyone can have the opportunity to find those 30-60 mins for themselves.
As much as esthetics brings me joy, my passion for empowering women and creating a sense of community is what drives me to continue doing what I love.
In fact, it was through that sense of community where I discovered Brows N Beauty Lounge. I just went through an emotional hardship and I needed a pick-me-up. I remember hearing about the Beauty Lounge through a coworker of mine and booked a brow shaping/stain appointment. While I was in my appointment, I got to chatting with my Brow expert and I mentioned that I had my esthetics license and was looking to get back into the field. It was right then and there I was directed to look on the website for any openings. Sure enough, I emailed Nicki, got the ball rolling and the rest is history!
I am so thankful for the opportunity that Brows N’ Beauty Lounge has given me. I get to work with a great team of like minded women and build something that's bigger than all of us.To me, that's pretty powerful and empowering. My goal is to spread that feeling because life throws us enough curve balls that stand in our way. So, let's stand together instead.
